While the state tournament is more than a month away, the fifth-ranked Tigers took another step toward a conference championship with a 2-1 win at Concord.
"We want to continue our momentum and dominance in the conference from last year," said Bauer. "We want to win the conference, that will set us up for the tournament. I thought whoever won this game would be in the catbird seat."
With the win, which was Warsaw's fourth-straight victory, the Tigers improved to 4-0-1 overall and 2-1 in the NLC. Concord fell to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
"They're a good team," Bauer said of Concord. "They haven't played the schedule we have, but we knew we'd be challenged. We had scouted each other. We knew what we were up against."
Waraw scored a goal in each half and took a 2-0 lead before the Minutemen's Alec Stubbs scored in the 71st minute of play.
Stubbs' goal is the only one the Tigers have given up in their past four games, as they've outscored their opponents 16-1 in that span.
Warsaw got on the board first when senior Jose Rodriguez scored and unassisted goal in the 13th minute.
Senior Cory Lopez made it 2-0 when he scored on an assist from junior Nathan Kolbe in the 54th minute of play.
"I'm very pleased with our play," said Bauer. "Even on a rough field, we were able to put some things together."
Warsaw took 11 shots to Concord's six. Both teams had four corner kicks.
The Tigers will try to extend their winning streak to five games when they play in the Carroll Tournament Friday.
