On July 19, 1945, Jim Tibbets and Agnes Ruth Ooley were married at the First Presbyterian Manse, Brazil, Ind., by the Rev. Jack Masters.

They spent a three-day honeymoon at Turkey Run State Park, after which they traveled by train to New Orleans, where Jim was stationed at the Naval Repair Station, Algiers, La. Upon discharge from the U.S. Navy, they returned to Brazil. They moved from Columbus, Ind., to Mentone in 1953, where they have lived in their present home for 48 years.

They have four children: David, Elkhart; Susan Kintzel, Warsaw; Barbara Cummings, Crawfordsville; and Daniel, San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In 1991, he retired from Silveus & Brandway Oil Co., and she retired from Lucas Realty, as a broker. They are members of Mentone United Methodist Church.

The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniverary by returning to the place of their honeymoon, Turkey Run State Park.
