There were 10 contestants and four “Future Idols” who participated in the annual K21 Health Foundations’s Idol Nite to benefit the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund.
Judges were Josh Elam, who served as Warsaw’s version of Steven Tyler; Katie Kubacki, who played the role of Jennifer Lopez; and Greg Horton, who played the role of Simon Cowell.
Awards were presented for Judge’s Choice, Future Idol Top Fundraiser and People’s Choice.
Audience members had the opportunity to provide financial donations in support of the singer they liked the most.
Idol Nite contestants raised their own financial support as well.
Idol Nite was at the Wagon Wheel Theatre in Warsaw. This year’s Idol Nite was titled “Sing For Support 2012.”
Romy Reich sang “Sweet Home Chicago” and received the Judge’s Choice award. Meredith Phipps sang “Count On Me” and received the Future Idol Top Fundraiser award. Tiffany Sheetz sang “One Way Ticket” and won the People’s Choice award.
All three winners received plaques, and Sheetz received a $1,000 check.
Idol Nite Committee Members were Pam Starkweather, Holly Howard, Dawn Schaefer, David Ganz, Cindy Knafel, Janet Kinney and Peggy Campbell.
Idol Nite was directed by Scott Michaels.
Matt Niemier served as emcee for the evening.
The Cancer Care Fund, administered by the K21 Health Foundation, provides assistance to residents of Kosciusko County who are dealing with financial difficulties due to a cancer diagnosis.
The assistance the fund provides includes, but is not limited to, items such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities, insurance, food, car payments and prescription medications.
Lee Ann Stewart Fusion Dance Team performed at intermission, and “The Black Eyed Peanuts” 2011 Future Idol Winners sang “I Got A Feeling” before the competition started.
People can still donate for the KCCF until Friday at www.k21foundation.org and click on the Idol Nite icon to vote for their favorite Idol and use Paypal to provide financial contributions for the Cancer Care Fund.[[In-content Ad]]
