Three Held On Charges Of Burglary, Drug Possession

Three Kosciusko County residents were arrested after a traffic stop for their alleged connection to several area burglaries.

Around 12:06 a.m. Friday, Jennifer Lee Kerst, 27, of 6756 E. Old 30, Pierceton, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for misdemeanor conversion, false police reporting, possession of narcotic drugs/cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of legends or precursors, burglary to a business and theft/receiving stolen property. Her bond was set at $5,500.[[In-content Ad]]Christen E. Couture, 19, of 440 EMS D15 Lane, Syracuse, was booked into the jail for burglary to a business, theft/receiving stolen property, possession of paraphernalia, possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of legends or precursors, and possession of a controlled substance Friday. Her bond was set at $5,000.

Warren James Davies, 24, of 601 Oldfather St., Warsaw, was arrested for theft/receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, burglary to a business and possession of legends or precursors. His bond was set at $5,000.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Kerst, Couture and Davies are suspected to have had involvement in various burglaries in the county.

Late Thursday evening, Warsaw City Police Officer Clay Layne stopped a vehicle that was sought for being operated by unauthorized control. When he located the vehicle, Couture, Kerst and Davies were inside.

The three suspects were taken to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department where Detective Sergeant Don McCune questioned and obtained information about their involvement in the recent burglaries

McCune reportedly found enough evidence to arrest all three suspects for burglary, a Class C felony.

Stolen property reportedly also has been recovered from a recent burglary on CR 900N.

Officers suspect Davies, Kerst and Couture have been involved in other burglaries that remain under investigation by the sheriff's department.
