Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. deputy James Marshall was on routine patrol Wednesday around 7 p.m. along Ind. 13 south of North Webster when he noticed an extremely strong odor near the "Flowing Well" area.
Marshall was aware that the smell was often associated with the production of methamphetamine.
Officers from the North Webster Police Department assisted deputies in locating where the odor was coming from, and ended up at 3663 North Ind. 13, Pierceton, where the odor appeared to be emitting the strongest concentration.
Officers spoke with the property owner, Linda Smith, who gave officers permission to search the residence as well as the outside structures.
Officers located a large amount of "one-pot method" methamphetamine labs inside a shed behind the house and immediately contacted the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team for assistance.
Taken into custody were brothers Richard Dale Pruitt, 48, and Christopher Alan Pruitt, 43, who were both preliminarily arrested on felony manufacturing methamphetamine charges.
Smith is the Pruitt brothers' mother and was not charged. The brothers lived at the Smith residence.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers stated that more than 35 meth labs and 26 ACL generators were located.
State Troopers were on scene until early this morning, securing the various meth labs.
Both Pruitt subjects are being held on $2,000 bonds each at the Kosciusko County Jail.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted by officers from the North Webster Police Department, Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team.
The third individual arrested on methamphetamine charges is Erika Jennifer Bruner, 21, of 11090 N. Wawasee Circle, Cromwell. She was involved in the car explosion incident in Syracuse last November.
Bruner surrendered to officers at the Kosciusko County Jail at 12:20 a.m. this morning, and booked under a $25,000 bond for dealing methamphetamine.
