Theft charges have been filed in the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office against Kyle D. Sheaks, 18, of 931 Broadmore Ave., Munster, and some juveniles.[[In-content Ad]]According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Sheaks and the juveniles were in a band that went to Jellystone Campground to play July 18. When the group learned that there was some sort of miscommunication and they would not be playing, Sheaks and the juveniles allegedly stole two golf carts from people at the campground. Once they reportedly took the golf carts, they returned to Munster.
Detectives from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department found one of the golf carts in Munster yesterday, and are trying to find the second golf cart. The second golf cart reportedly was sold to someone in Monticello, and detectives are in the process of going to look for the golf cart today.
Police believe the golf carts were taken in retaliation for what the suspects believed was a waste of their time and money for traveling such a long distance to discover that they were not actually booked to play music.
Two unnamed juveniles from the band also are part of the investigation, and could face charges as well.
