John and JoAnn Thompson, Columbus, Ohio, announce the engagement of their daughter, Magothy M. Thompson, Warsaw, to Jonathan D. Shipley, Warsaw. He is the son of Steve and Hally Shipley, Fort Myers, Fla.

The bride-to-be works for Warsaw Community Schools. She graduated from Whetstone High School in 1999; earned her bachelor's degree from Grace College in 2004; and currently is working on her master's degree at Ball State University.

The groom-elect works at Lifeline Youth & Family Services. He graduated from Cypress Lake High School in 2001, and Grace College.
