He was born June 25, 1945, in Kosciusko County, to Jacob and Grace Wineland Pease. On Oct. 7, 1978, in Elkhart, he married Shirley Trosper, who survives.
Thomas attended Goshen High School and served with the 101st Airborne and 75th Ranger Regiment 25th Division F Company, from May 7, 1968, to May 1, 1971. He worked in the sign and trailer industry most of his life, retiring in 2008 from Terra Transit, New Paris. He was a life member of VFW 985, Goshen; and member of American Legion 253, North Webster; Loyal Member of the Moore 836, Goshen; and he loved to golf.
Also surviving are a son, Michael R. (and spouse Anne) Pease, Kimmell; a daughter, Crystal N. Pease, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Brauch Thomas Pease; two brothers, William Pease, Senaca, S.C., and Robert Pease, Massachusetts; and two sisters, Maxine (and spouse Bruce Jr.) Rogers, Milford, and Geraldine Gooch, New Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Virginia Amsden, Dorothy Haines, Margaret Bell, Lucille Tuesing, Pat Smith; and a brother, John “Jack” Pease.
Calling will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Tuesday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, with Pastor David Howe officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
