Theola W. Yackley, 92, of 169 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 9:10 p.m. Feb. 22, 2008, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake.

She was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Pierceton, to Ronald E. and Susie Sleighter Werstler. On Nov. 21, 1944, in South Carolina, she married Raymond E. Yackley, who died in 1994.

She lived in Osceola then moved back to the Warsaw area in 1998. She worked at Bendix Automotive, Robertson's Dept. Store and L.S. Ayres, all in South Bend. She was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church and a Pierceton High School graduate.

Surviving are a daughter, Joylynn (and spouse Ray) Townsend, Mishawaka; three nephews, including Clinton Whitney, Warsaw; four nieces, including Kay Mosier, Warsaw; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Werstler, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Village Chapel, Wooster Road, Winona Lake, with Chaplain Bob Divine officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.

While Warsaw did not get the start that it wanted facing off against Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood Friday night, the Tigers certainly got the finish they were looking for. Down 21-0 early in the contest, Warsaw battled back, scoring the last 35 points of the game to pick up a 35-21 win in Nappanee, the school’s first since 2012.
