Theodore 'Ted' Lawrence Prescott

He was born March 17, 1936, in Ligonier, to Lawrence and Ruby Cretcher Prescott. On March 24, 1959, he married Wanieta Walton, who died June 3, 1960. On Aug. 27, 1961, in Nappanee, he married Thelma Rose, who survives.
He lived most of his life in Nappanee and was a 1956 Pierceton High School graduate. He worked at Franklin Coach, Nappanee, for 15 years, and Triton Elementary School, Bourbon, for 14 years, retiring in 1986 because of his health. He attended Wakarusa Missionary Church. Since 1969, he and his wife have been active in United Commercial Travelers, a fraternal order that helps mentally challenged people. They have served as local and state officers for many years. He was a former member of Pierceton Lions Club and received the Lion of the Year Award in 1996.
Also surviving are a son, Mark Allen Prescott, Goshen; a daughter, Donna Lee Prescott, Nappanee; a granddaughter; and a sister, Phyllis Wright, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Wakarusa Missionary Church with the Revs. David Soliday and Kent Norr officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
