Theodore Skeans, 84, of Warsaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 22, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

He was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Martin, Ky., to Taylor and Callie Derossett Skeans. On Dec. 31, 1947, in Prestonsburg, Ky., he married Rebecca Nadine Johnson, who survives.

He moved to Leesburg in 1959 and to Warsaw in 1987. He retired from Farmers State Bank and was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Warsaw, and Mentone Masonic Lodge 576 F&AM.

Also surviving are six sons: James (and spouse Susan) Skeans, Clarksburg, N.J.; Jerry (and spouse Janice) Skeans, Nappanee; Jack (and spouse Lorie) Skeans, Coloma, Mich.; Terry Skeans, Washington, N.J.; and Ted Jr. (and spouse Opal) Skeans and Joseph (and spouse Lauri) Skeans, all of Warsaw; four daughters: Barbara Skeans, Houston, Texas; Linda (and spouse Mike) Miner, Warsaw; and Mary Alice Park and Janice Miller, both of Milford; two brothers, Bill Skeans, Wabash, and Floyd Skeans, Prestonsburg, Ky.; a sister, Beth Puffer, California; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw,  with Pastor David Cripe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
