She was born July 12, 1932, in Warsaw. She married Richard O. Ring, who preceded her in death.
She earned a masters degree from St. Francis University. She was an R.N. for 50 years with multiple hospitals before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Critical Care Nursing Association. She enjoyed her Pepsi, shopping, crocheting, reading, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her five children: Richard (and spouse Alaina) Ring, Auburn; Sue (and spouse David) Garris, Fort Wayne; Kathryn Lynn Lanier, San Jose, Calif.; Daniel (and spouse Linda) Ring, Dade City, Fla.; and Timothy Ring, Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Laura Hathaway-Minter, Rockford, Ill.; Mary Whisler, Bradenton, Fla.; and June Kramer, Rochester. She was also preceded in death by her father, Carl Carrothers; her mother, Rhoda Bacon Brown; a brother, Bill Carrothers; and two sisters, Lennis Wise and Gayle Hurst.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Dr. Derek Weber officiating. Burial is in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to services Thursday.
