She was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Bourbon, to Urben and Coral Banks Roahrig. On Dec. 23, 1934, she married Chester O. Hall, who died Nov. 30, 2002.
A lifetime Bourbon resident, she was a 1932 graduate of Bourbon High School. She was a homemaker, a farmer’s wife, owned Hall’s Western Store, Bourbon, for many years and worked at GMAC Associates, South Bend. She was co-founder of the Silver Dollar Saddle Club, was a tremendous supporter of 4-H and served as secretary to the Bourbon Fair horse superintendent. She and her husband were the first people in the area to raise Quarter horses and they enjoyed belonging to the Frances Slocum Trail Riders (Diamond X Campground), Peru. She was a member of Yellow River Club and Home Economics Club.
Surviving are four children: Margaret (and spouse James) Bates, Janet Trowbridge, Chester “Chet” (and spouse Jane) Hall and Stephen (and spouse Rose Ann) Hall, all of Bourbon; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilee (and spouse Alvin Eugene “Gene”) Koontz, Fort Wayne. She also was preceded in death by two brothers.
A private burial was held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
