Thelma J. Leedy, 92, of Warsaw, died at 5:25 a.m. Feb. 19, 2012, in her residence.

She was born March 14, 1919, in Winamac, to William H. and Grace Hunter Fisher. On March 30, 1941, in Warsaw, she married Rupert “Buck” Leedy, who died in 1999.

A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she retired in 1979 as Wayne Township deputy assessor. She was a member of North Webster Church of God.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Wampler, Warsaw; a son, Stephen R. (and spouse Linda) Leedy, Terre Haute; two grandsons, Brad Leedy, Louisville, Ky., and Jeffrey (and spouse Brandi) Wampler, Warsaw; two great-grandchildren; Cheryl Leedy, North Webster; a brother, F. Eugene (and spouse June) Fisher, North Manchester; and a sister, Doris Nellans, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lynn E. “Doc” Wampler, who died in 2010.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw.
