SYRACUSE - Thelma Black, 98, of Cromwell, passed away Feb. 10, 2011, in Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Milford.

She was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Indian Village. She married Ralph Black, who preceded her in death.

She was a Cromwell High School graduate, a homemaker and a farm helper most of her married life. She was a longtime member of Wilmot Salem Community.

Surviving are two sons, Gale (and spouse Nancy) Black, rural Cromwell, and Glen Black, Shoe Lake; a daughter-in-law, Janice Black, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Amy Badskey, Avilla; Christine Flaugh, Syracuse; Lori Howe, Cromwell; Michael Black, Lafayette; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister; and a son, Gary Black.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse, with Pastor David Biberstein officiating. Burial will be in Indian Village Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
