By Staff Report-

Beginning this month, The Studio is now offering arts and crafts classes to the greater Warsaw area.
A variety of classes will be available for all ages and skill levels.
Classes this month include fine arts, cooking, scrapbooking, home décor, jewelry and card making. These classes will take place in the classroom area of the Studio, a local arts and crafts retailer with an on-site coffee shop.
Class pricing varies from $6 to $30 and includes instruction as well as all materials needed to complete the project. Most classes will take place in the evenings or on weekends, but there are some weekday morning classes available as well.
The schedule is comprised entirely of local instructors and artists teaching their craft or trade.
“We wanted to take advantage of the talent already in our area and offer it to the community,” said Steph Woodward, owner of The Studio. “Warsaw is currently limited in the amount of arts and crafts opportunities available to the public. The Studio hopes to help create a solution.”
Coffee & Canvas nights, similar to Wine & Canvas in larger cities, will become a regular part of the class schedule. Over the course of the evening, participants will create a painting with step-by-step instruction. People can come with a group of friends or by themselves to meet new people.
There are also several children’s classes available. Included regularly are the Mommy & Me: Preschool Art classes, designed for children ages 2-5, which will focus on seasonal craft projects. School age children will have a variety of art classes offered on Saturday mornings.
For more information or to view the current schedule and class descriptions, stop in to The Studio, 2043 N. Detroit St., or visit the website www.thestudioclasses.com
