Thank A Soldier

I'm writing in regards to all of the letters I have been reading in the recent weeks. Everyone that is commenting on here are just as bad as our politicians. Doesn't anyone remember what happened on Sept. 11, 2001?

I actually saw one letter that said they are more afraid of a Republican president than Osama Bin Laden. Seriously! I'm guessing if it was your family that was killed that day, you would remember those horrors. But no, we all just go back to the way things were.

Well, there is a group of people very near and dear to my heart that haven't forgotten what we are fighting for. They are called the United States Marines. Every day we get up, while many of you are still sleeping, preparing ourselves to one day go to battle (or go back to battle) so that you don't have to. I can't remember the last letter I saw that was thanking our men and women of the Marine Corps and the rest of the military.

While you are sitting around complaining about a president that isn't even in office anymore, trying to figure out a way to turn anything and everything around on our ex-president, there are men and women fighting terrorists (yes, they do actually exist), and many, many families that are missing their mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, son or daughter dearly.

Do you know how strong our country can be if it is united? Do you remember the last time our country was united? I do. Sept. 11, 2001.

Why doesn't everyone cut the BS. Do your part. Complaining isn't your part. Supporting our troops is doing your part. Help me remember why I love(d) Warsaw, Indiana, so much.

Thank a Marine, soldier, airman, guardsman, sailor today. It means more than you could ever know.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
