ARGOS – Terry William Thompson, 70, of 333 Indiana Ave., Argos, died at 2 a.m. Sept. 28, 2014, at his residence following a year-long illness.
He was born March 10, 1944, in Argos, to Gail Austin and Hazel Josephine Hessler Thompson.
He lived in the Argos community most of his life. He  worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons as a printer and a customer service specialist, retiring in 2001 out of the Minneapolis, Minn., facility after 40 years with the company.
He was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1962. He served in the Army National Guard of Indiana from 1965 to 1971. He was a member of the Argos American Legion Post #68 and the Plymouth Moose Family Center #741. After retirement, he returned to his home town of Argos, where he enjoyed playing golf regularly in the summer.
Surviving are his fiancee, Donna L. Louk, Argos; a son, Tony William (and fiancee Kandy Oviatt) Thompson, Plymouth; a stepdaughter, Tanna Mae (and spouse Craig) Sroda, Mishawaka; three grandchildren: Abigail, Allison and Emily Sroda, Mishawaka; a sister, Judy K. Good, Argos; a brother, James A. (and spouse Lila) Thompson, Warsaw; a brother-in-law, Bill Dillie, Argos; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sharon A. Dillie; two brothers, Donald L. and Robert C. Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Danny Good.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, with the Rev. Henry V. Sprunger officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army burial unit and the Argos American Legion Post #68.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
