Tenney, Lippe Honored At United Way Annual Meeting

Gary Tenney and Jon Lippe were recognized for their extraordinary service to the United Way organization in 2007.
Tenney was named Volunteer of the Year for his numerous contributions to the United Way last year.
Tenney, who works for Chore Time Brock Inc., exhibited his commitment to the Vision Council program funding process and Community Impact process at United Way. He serves on the "Day of Caring" committee and was instrumental in recruiting 17 other CTB employees, as well as his family, who participated for the day.
Tenney currently is a United Way Board member and also is CTB's internal Key Leader; which continues to increase in giving since he has been the key leader.
Lippe received the Key Leader of the Year honor. He was instrumental in encouraging the employees of Warsaw Community High School to increase their United Way contributions last year.
Lippe ran 12 internal training sessions for the WCS campaign. This led to the largest donation per capita increase, from $16 to $22, which resulted in the largest growth this year.
During the 2007 campaign, the United Way of Kosciusko County raised $1,625,164. The group hopes to add to that number in 2008, which is the 50th year for the organization in Kosciusko County. The United Way started in Kosciusko County in 1958 and has been active in the community ever since.
The United Way currently supports 52 programs financially in Kosciusko County. Those programs include youth development, family and community wellness, self-sufficiency and emergency services.
Lunch for the guests who attended the meeting was prepared by students in the Warsaw Area Career Center culinary class. Entertainment was provided by the Warsaw Intermediate Chorus under the direction of Scott Avery.
Before awards were handed out, the annual meeting of the Kosciusko County United Way was held.
Two members, David Findlay of Lake City Bank and Dean Zentz of Danco Anodizing, left the board after serving two terms.
Three board members were elected to serve their second term on the United Way Board: Ron Donkers, Zimmer-retired; Christi Price, Tower Bank; and Diana Butterfield, Medtronic Spinal & Biologics.
Ben Stevens of Paragon Medical, Everett Nifong of Lake City Bank, Erin Rowland of the Law Office of Joanne Kolbe, Steve Corbett of DePuy, Darrel Taylor of R.R. Donnelley and Rob Delp of Biomet were elected as new members to the board.
Companies which ran internal employee campaigns and met their employee challenge- goals were honored and given awards: Colbin Tool Company, Inc., Farmers State Bank, Grace College and Seminary, Lake City Enterprises, Inc., Little Crow Foods, Medtronic Spinal & Biologics, Mid-City Supply Co., Inc, Mutual Federal Savings Bank, Reneker's Sports Shop, Rohm & Haas Powder Coatings, Spartech Industries, SYM Financial Advisors, United Way of Kosciusko County, Warsaw Community School Corp., and Wawasee School Corp.[[In-content Ad]]
