I wonder what Mr. Alspaugh thought would happen after the referendum was passed. Instead of blaming your assessment, blame the people who didn’t vote.
Everybody who owns real estate will see their taxes go up. No matter which way the tax went someone would be upset. Most of the people that owned lake property could not even vote because their homes were not their primary residence.
If Mr. Alspaugh thinks he is being singled out he should talk to farmers. Another problem Mr. Alspaugh should check out are business abatements. Finally, Mr. Alspaugh, before you complain, try to find a positive solution.
