Tax Alcohol, Not Cigs

I would like someone to answer for me why Gov. Mitch Daniels and the Senate Committee are asking that the Indiana cigarette tax be increased from the 55 cents it is now to another 25 cents to fund the new dubbed The Healthy Indiana Plan?
I, as a smoker for over 20 years, understand the health problems smoking can cause. Who doesn't know what smoking can do? But why not try taxing something else for once like alcohol? Which, I'm not saying is right either, but at least it would give the smokers a break for once. I think there is a lot more alcohol use in this world/state then smokers, and don't worry, drinkers, this tax would be killed right away since I'm sure most of these committees, Senate, state officials all have a sip/glass of wine or champagne, maybe even a beer, once in awhile after a hard day at work. Let them get taxed for once and see if they like caring the extra tax relief for everyone in this state/world but get their rights taken away of where, when, how much it cost and see how they like it. I would almost bet an alcohol tax increase would shut it down since it might affect them more personally.
I also understand there has not been any increase as of yet that, it has been sent to the Senate Appropriations Committee, after being changed, so since there is no increased cigarette tax as of yet, let's look at taxing the alcohol taxes only. I'm sure alcohol does as much damage to a person health as cigarettes do, like DUI, PI, car wrecks, even death from consumption, etc.
Just an opinion.
