Then visit the second annual Taste & Trade Expo 2008 Friday and Saturday at the Orthopaedic Capital Center on the campus of Grace College.[[In-content Ad]]The community event will open at 11 a.m. Friday and will be open until 6 p.m. On Saturday, the event opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. Admission for the expo is $3 per person, and admission for children 12 and under is free.
In October 2007, Kosciusko Development Inc. and the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce organized and put on the first Taste & Trade Expo to highlight the businesses and caterers in the area. Because the event was a success, it was decided that the expo should be an annual community event.
The Taste & Trade Expo 2008 will feature more than 60 booths for local food service and other businesses. Exhibitors at the event will hand out information about their businesses, and caterers will give out food samples.
This year's event also will feature entertainment, including the Dancing Grannies, Caudill's Tae Kwan Do, Class Act Dance Troup, the Dejong Family, Provident Studios students, Optimists, Lakeland Youth Chorale and Wawasee Show Choir and Gentle Winds Trio.
Art exhibits from students from Wawasee, Warsaw and Triton middle and high schools will be displayed at the Expo as well.
Visitors will have three ways to win prizes at the Expo as well. Many businesses will have drawings for prizes at their individual booths.
The Chamber also has designed a "passport" that will be given to attendees upon entry to the expo. Visitors will need to visit each booth listed on the passport to get it stamped. After all the stamps are collected, the passport can be entered in a drawing for Chamber gift checks. The top prize is $350, second prize is $100, and third prize is $50. Funds for the gift checks were donated by Embarq, a major sponsor of the event.
Upon leaving the event, visitors will be asked to fill out an exit survey. Those who fill out the survey will be eligible to win one of several donated prizes. Some of the prizes available include a fleece from the Indianapolis Colts, Fort Wayne Komets tickets donated by REMC, a color printer/scanner donated by Joe Sands of Sands Office Equipment Service Inc.; an office chair donated by Greg Binkerd of Work Space Solutions; and a gift card donated by Wal-Mart.
Educational seminars will be presented by Sands Office Equipment Inc. and Workspace Solutions. Topics covered in the seminars include "scanning made easy," "industry regulations for security and workplace compliance," "small business and home office answers" and more. For more information about the seminars, contact Joe Sands at 574-268-9444, Ext. 20, or [email protected], or Greg Binkerd at 574-527-9268 or [email protected]
