Symmetry Medical Earns Award

Symmetry Medical Inc., an independent provider of products to the global orthopedic device industry and other medical markets, announced today that Specialty Surgical Instruments, a division of Symmetry Medical, has been awarded an ear, nose and throat sales contract by Premier Purchasing Partners LP.

Premier is the largest healthcare alliance in the United States, serving 1,700 hospitals and more than 49,000 other healthcare sites. The three-year contract will provide tier one pricing status on 6,000 SSI ENT instruments available to Premier alliance members.

SSI, based in Nashville, Tenn., has a 31-year history of offering targeted sales, marketing and distribution programs to serve the key surgical specialties of neurological, spine, orthopedics, cardiovascular, ENT, laparoscopy and ophthalmology. The company was acquired by Symmetry Medical in September 2007.

Charles Mann, executive vice president of contracts at SSI, said, "We are excited to be chosen by Premiere to provide our ENT instruments to its network of hospitals and healthcare facilities. Premier's selection of SSI underscores the high quality and breadth of our products. We believe it will build on our momentum as the fastest growing instrument company in the United States.
