NAPPANEE - Sylvia Lynn Howard, 49, of 4729 Autumn Chase Court, Fort Wayne, and formerly of Nappanee, died at 8 a.m. Jan. 16, 2011, in her residence.

She was born Nov. 1, 1961, in Charlotte, N.C., to George and Sylvia Eaves.

She moved to Nappanee in 1982 and lived in Fort Wayne for the past five years. She was a security guard for various businesses in Fort Wayne and also worked for the Allen County Red Cross. She previously attended Ark Church, Nappanee.

Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Grace (and spouse Ortle) Leemon, Nappanee; a son, Lance Howard, Atwood; a grandmother, Grace Bailey, Nappanee; a sister, Margaret Eaves, Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Daryl Eaves, Charlotte; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Neil Wonnacutt officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
