Survey Says 'Cathy' Must Go

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The comic strip Dilbert debuts in today's edition.

We asked readers which strip we should remove to make room for Dilbert.

It has been decided that Cathy will be leaving the Times-Union comic page.

There were 56 readers who took the time to call or e-mail their preference.

Of those, 13 (almost 25 percent) asked that Cathy be removed. Second in the running for the cartoon ax was Alley Oop, followed by Overboard, Geech and Foxtrot.

Other strips targeted by readers included Close To Home, Shoe, Eeek and Meek, Crankshaft, Frank and Ernest, Baby Blues, Garfield and Rose Is Rose.

There were no votes to remove Peanuts, Blondie, Arlo and Janis, or The Born Loser.

The Times-Union news staff would like to thank the readers who took the time to respond to our survey. [[In-content Ad]]
