Recently, Baron Hill stepped down to allow Evan Bayh
to compete in the senate race. Personally, I find this to be
a horrendous violation of Democracy. The people who voted
in the Democratic primary selected Hill as their nominee
while Bayh didn't even seek the nomination. The people
have spoken and they did not ask for Bayh. For this reason,
at a time when the party is divided, I believe the Republican
Party must unite to reject this evasion of
Democracy.
I know we’ve had our disagreements in the primary, but
we must unite behind Todd Young for Senate. Let us remember
that the Supreme Court is one of the many important
issues at stake in this election. We know which one of
the candidates will put a conservative on the bench and
which one will not. Besides, Bayh has been a longtime
Clinton supporter while Young has condemned her violations
of the law. Bayh has received 100 percent from
NARAL while Young has always proudly campaigned on
being pro-life. Bayh has endorsed new environmental regulations
while Young has sought to REIN in the government
agencies.
It is clear the conservative and Republican choice is
Todd Young. For that reason, I ask the party to unite behind
its candidate and send in the marine. Our values, our
country and our democracy depend on it.
