Students Receive BK Scholarships

In the company's eighth year of the program, more than $800,000 was donated nationwide, showcasing the importance of receiving an education.[[In-content Ad]]High school seniors can apply for 2009 scholarships by visiting online at www.bk.com/scholars
Local scholarship winners include: Amanda Korsmo, NorthWood High School, Nappanee; Carrie McClain, Manchester High School, North Manchester; Emily Swartz, Wawasee High School, Syracuse; Michael Atchison, WHS, Syracuse; Alexandra Shoemaker Furnivall, Warsaw Community High School, Warsaw; and Lindsey Bruner, WCHS, Warsaw.
Scholarship awards are intended to help graduates offset the cost of attending college or a post-secondary vocational/technical school. Graduating seniors throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada are eligible for the scholarships.
Scholar recipients are selected based on their grade point average, work experience, financial need, co-curricular activities and community service.
