No one was inside the structure at the time of the incident.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Inspector Joe Fretz said the department received the call around 5:45 p.m. Monday. Fretz said the home owner had been doing renovations and had recently removed an interior wall in the home. With the extra weight of snow, the roof collapsed.
Fretz said he contacted the home owner who confirmed no one was living in the home at the time. According to public records, the property is owned by Stephen Sanchez, North Lake Street, Warsaw. The property has been deemed a total loss.
Fretz said the property was taped off, the building department was contacted and made aware of the incident and all utilities for the property were secured. Though no gas was running to the property, the power was shut off to prevent further complications.[[In-content Ad]]
