Lucia Strmenova and Michael F. Vanderpool were married Aug. 29, 2009, in Ilava, Slovakia, in a small, traditional family ceremony.

The bride's parents are Dr. Juraj Strmen and Margita Strmenova, Ilava, Slovakia.

The groom's parents are Ron "Mick" and Dee Vanderpool, Warsaw.

The bride is a language school manager in Brno, Czech Republic. She earned a PhD in pedagogy at the University of Constantine the Philospher, Nitra.

The groom is a service coordinator at IBM, Brno, Czech Republic. He is a Warsaw Community High School graduate and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Indiana University.

The couple is planning to relocate to the Warsaw area soon.

There will be a celebration held for family and friends at a later date.

What I haven’t heard mentioned are the eleven towers scattered across it - eleven towers that you have to till, plant, and harvest around. Heaven forbid you hit one. Planes that spray my fields can’t hit the full area because of these obstacles. I’ve got four irrigation units running to irrigate the best I can, where normally two would suffice.
