String Of Burglaries Reported In Southside Subdivision

The Summerfield Estates subdivision near Ferguson Road had three homes broken into Tuesday night.

Susan Durgin, South Rosberg Court, reported her home was broken into and a video game system, games, controllers and $400 cash was taken.[[In-content Ad]]Julie Harvey, South Honey Bee Court, Warsaw, reported the theft of a laptop, with an estimated worth of $1,500, and cash.

Ray Flint, also of Honey Bee Court, reported a GPS navigation system was stolen and $450 in cash.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department stated that the method the three homes were broken into were similar.

All three break-ins are still under investigation.

According to residents, nine homes were entered.

KCSD Sheriff Rocky Goshert provided tips for people to cut down the chance of their homes being broken into.

- Neighbors should keep an eye out for others' homes.

- Homes should be illuminated at night.

- All doors should be locked to the home.

- Valuables such as jewelry and cash should not be visible from the outside.

KCSD Public Information Officer Chad Hill said residents of the Summerfield Estates subdivision are looking into forming a neighborhood watch.
