This year 88 teams from 14 states participated in the Free Methodist National Bible Quiz Finals.

The material for this year covered Hebrews and First and Second Peter. This represents 469 verses. Some quizzers memorized all 469 verses.

The Stouts flew from Chicago, Ill., to Seattle to attend the National Bible Quiz Finals. This is the fourth year their family has participated at the national level.

This year the Senior Teen Veteran A team from Winona Lake Free Methodist Church consisted of three team members: Levi Stout, Nathaniel Stout and Lydia Stout. They competed together as a team all year and studied a lot to prepare for nationals.

Nathaniel enjoys quizzing because it is competitive, allows him to learn scripture and provides an opportunity to meet new friends.

Levi likes quizzing because he can hide scripture in his heart, increase knowledge of scripture, meet a lot of new people, win trophies and have fun.

At nationals they competed in the highest division.  The team was undefeated in the double elimination tournament and took first place, becoming the Free Methodist 2012 Bible Quiz National Champions. They were very excited about winning this award. The team took home a traveling trophy called the Alpha Omega Trophy. The winning team is allowed to keep the trophy for one year and then return it at the next Bible Quiz Nationals.

In 2013, Quiz Finals will be held in New York at Roberts Wesleyan University.

In addition to winning in the team competition, Nathaniel Stout took first place in the Senior Teen Veteran A Individual Bible Quiz Finals and received a $2,000 scholarship to attend any Free Methodist College or University.[[In-content Ad]]
