Stolen Equipment

I've been a Kosciusko County resident my entire life. I've been a musician, sound technician and drum and percussion instructor for the last 25 years. I've been lucky over the years as far as theft goes. I've hauled thousands of dollars worth of musical gear in and out of clubs and music venues most of my life, but, haven't really experienced much theft or lost gear. That is until last Friday night.
I own a sound system and light show that stays at a local downtown venue, running sound there often when I'm not performing somewhere else, which is exactly what I did last Friday night. I was in the club from 9:15 p.m. until 2:15 a.m.
When I left, I approached my truck to find the lock had been broken and someone had pried all around the door handle and around the window of the driver's side door, breaking the window in the process. They stole both my briefcase and extra road case full of musical gear and microphones. I admit I was shocked. I guess I'm just a very trusting person. I locked the vehicle and I never expected this.[[In-content Ad]]I'm writing this letter to spread the word because the very next morning someone called me who had found my briefcase behind the Shell Station on the corner of Center and Detroit streets, with most of its contents all over the ground. This kind person picked it all up, put it back in the bag, found contact information within the bag and called me. What a great, honest person. The small amount of cash that was in the case was still there.
Thank you, Becky, for relieving my concerns of identity theft because my personal information ID, checking, savings, etc. were in there. So my concerns turned to the value and the needed items in order to run my business that were contained in the other stolen case.
Included in the case were: 4-AKG C418 drum microphones, 4-Sennheiser 3604 drum microphones, 1-AKG D112 drum microphone, 1-AKG Hi Hat microphone, 1-EV 967 and 1-EV 767 vocal microphones, 3-Conquest USA EDB Direct Boxes, 1-Behringer Chrome Direct Box, assorted red and black women mic cables, other misc. instrument cables and other misc. small items and adapters. Some mics were marked TOM1, TOM2, Voc.1, Voc.2 etc. Some even said CODA on them. All contained in a blue nylon bag with a white Amway logo and white Velcro strip holding the lid closed. The value is around $2,000 in stolen gear, not to mention the value of the damage to the green Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.
I feel very lucky to have my brief case returned to me, which led me to believe in the possibility that I may retrieve some or all of the other items with the help of local businesses and anyone who may have seen anything that night or since then.
I have contacted the local police, local pawn shop and music stores. I'm not really looking for the arrest of the individual. I would just like to have all or most of my items back, so I can spend money on Christmas for my family and not to keep my business running. If anyone has seen or heard anything concerning this incident or these items since last Friday night, please contact me at 574-269-2632. Thank you.
