Mr. and Mrs. Melvin “Bud” Stiffler will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary May 21.
Bud and the former Jill Waterson were married May 19, 1951, in St. Paul’s Methodist Church, South Bend, with Dr. Robert M. Selle officiating.
Bud retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20-1/2 years of service, 13 years at Bertsch Vending, Warsaw, and seven years as head custodian at Silver Lake Elementary School.
Jill worked for the U.S. Air Force as a secretary in Okinawa and Biloxi, Miss. She then worked at Lowery’s Sewing Center, Warsaw, for three years, then retired from Silver Lake Elementary School after 17 as the school secretary.
The couple have four children: Michael (and spouse RoseMarie) Stiffler, Franklin; Pamela (and spouse Marvin) Dragoo, Warsaw; Timothy (and spouse Robin) Stiffler, Dewart Lake; and Jodi (and spouse Mark) Conley, Silver Lake; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
They will celebrate with a family dinner at Das Essenhaus, Middlebury, as they did for their 50th and 55th anniversary.
