NAPPANEE - Steven R. Richmond, 60, of 48 Mandrake, Niles, Mich., died Dec. 17, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 8, 1947, in Elkhart, to Robert and Betty Hartzell Richmond.

He was a graduate of Nappanee High School and a warehouse manager for Pletcher Furniture Store and Graffis Furniture, South Bend. He lived most of his life in Nappanee, moving to Niles, Mich., in 2002. He was a member of Niles American Legion 26 and the Eagles' Lodge at Niles.

Surviving are two daughters: Robin Richmond, South Bend, and Melissa Bassett, Fort Wayne; a grandson; his mother, Betty (and spouse Robert) Firestone, Goshen; four brothers: Roger Richmond, Nappanee; Jim (and spouse Pat) Wilson, Wakarusa; Bill Wilson, Elkhart; Tom (and spouse Erin) Wilson, Goshen; and a sister, Linda (and spouse Mike) Carter, Beech Grove. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and his step father.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor David Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
