WABASH – Steven K. Vrooman, 74, of Frankfort, died at 10:29 p.m.  Dec. 28, 2012, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Wabash, to Roger and Katherine Stouffer Vrooman. On Aug. 31, 1958, in Wabash, he married Clare Scheerer, who survives.
He attended Wabash High School until his sophomore year, graduated from Laketon High School in 1956 and Purdue University in 1960. He was the general manager at AgMax, Frankfort, retiring after 35 years, and also worked at Wabash County Farm Bureau Co-Op, Allen County Co-Op and was a private grain marketing consultant. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Friends Church, United Way and the Jaycees. He was a member and past president of Frankfort Rotary Club, served as the district governor and was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation and was past president of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce. He lived in Frankfort since 1968.
Also surviving are three children, Scott (and spouse Muriel) Vrooman and Julie (and spouse Craig) Beauregard, all of Indianapolis, and Stan (and spouse Jen) Vrooman of Westfield; four grandchildren: Ann and Jack Vrooman, both of Westfield, and Jaggerd  and Isabella Beauregard, both of Indianapolis; four sisters, Marilyn (and spouse Bill) Moore, Mendon, Mich.; Jane Burch, Warsaw; Karen (and spouse Dennis) Grumpp, New Palestine; and Rosemary (and spouse Gary) Purd, North Manchester.  
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
