Stephen Shingledecker, 59, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:08 p.m.  Oct. 28, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Dec. 22, 1952, in Three Rivers, Mich., to Robert and Roeberta Barnes Shingledecker. On June 19, 1976, in Three Rivers, he married Karen Grady, who survives.

He was a 1971 graduate of Three Rivers High School, received his associate’s degree in 1974 from Michigan Technological University and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University in 1977. He was a Warsaw resident since 1981 and was formerly of Eagan, Minn. He retired from R.R. Donnelly & Sons,  Warsaw, after 23 years of service and was currently the I.T. manager for Cardinal Center Inc., Warsaw. He was a member of Northern Lakes Ice Skating Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Also surviving are a son, Michael Shingledecker, Warsaw; a daughter, Rebecca (and spouse Matthew) Philpott, Hudsonville, Mich.; his mother, Roeberta Shingledecker, Three Rivers; sisters, Mona Steiner, Warsaw, and Trudy (and spouse Frank) Herkenroder,  Elkhart; an aunt, Gertrude Mohney, East Leroy, Mich.; his father-in-law, Joe Grady, Oregon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at noon Friday at Lower Flatbush Cemetery, Three Rivers, officiated by Pastor Denny Wilson of Warsaw Community Church.

Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw,
