He was born Aug. 19, 1941, in Ironton, Ohio, to Paul W. Sr. and Maxine Hill Porter.
He graduated from Ironton High School, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Mid-State Trucking Company and formerly worked for many years at Food Marketing in Fort Wayne. He moved to North Webster several years ago from the Fort Wayne/Bluffton area. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Teresa (and spouse Mark) VerKuilen, Appleton, Wis.; four grandchildren: Andrea, Grant, Stone and Chancellor VerKuilen; a sister, Blanche Porter Brammer, Fairborn, Ohio; a brother, Paul W. Porter Jr., Grand Ridge, Fla.; and special friends, the Dan and Sue Adams Family, Greentown. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, LoWayne Porter Cox.
No public services are planned at this time per his request.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
