The 21st Century Scholars Program has developed a series of regionally-based workshops to help current 21st Century Scholar juniors get a “Jump Start” on their senior year of high school.
Held on 38 local college campuses, each workshop will provide scholars with essential information about the 21st Century Scholarship along with tips and resources to help them jump start their path toward college and career success. Junior scholars (class of 2015) and their parents or guardians are encouraged to attend a workshop in their area.
“We want all 21st Century Scholars across Indiana to have the opportunity to visit a college campus, connect with other scholars, and get a jump start on their path to college completion before they graduate from high school,” said Chris Enstrom, director of 21st Century Scholars Outreach. “These workshops will help junior scholars prepare for the transition to college and make sure they're on track to meet their scholarship and college admissions requirements.”
Jump Start workshop topics include:
• Meeting senior 21st Century Scholar Program requirements
• Completing college applications
• Maintaining scholarship eligibility in college
• Understanding financial aid
• Earning dual credit and AP courses
Interested scholars can register by phone at 888-528-4719 or online at Scholars.IN.Gov/Scholarsworkshops
Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars is a needs- and performance-based promise program that provides students the opportunity to earn up to a four-year scholarship at an Indiana college or university. Hoosier students who meet income criteria can enroll during their seventh- or eighth-grade year of middle school. Students commit to maintaining academic success, remaining drug and alcohol free and completing college-preparation activities that keep them on track for graduation.
