Staples and Panda Express have shown interest in occupying two of six commercial outlots in Warsaw.
The outlots are by the new Meijer store at the southeast corner of the U.S. 30 and Anchorage Road intersection.
As previously reported at the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals April 8 meeting, the board approved creating six new commercial lots from the original 37.71 acres.
City Planner Jeremy Skinner said Staples has submitted a development plan for the southwest area of the property, but has not applied for a building permit.
Skinner also said Panda Express has applied for a building permit to construct its business on the northwest lot of the Meijer property.
Skinner said Meijer is on target to open in the middle of June.
