Vernon and Betty Spurlock, Mentone, will mark their 65th wedding anniversary Oct. 10, 2008. Vernon Spurlock and Elizabeth "Betty" Halstedt were married Oct. 10, 1943, at Central Church in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The couple have four children: Bill (and spouse Rosemary) Spurlock, Warsaw; Mike Spurlock, San Antonio, Texas; Kris (and Chuck) Pletcher, Etna Green; Robin (and Jon) Briggs, Mentone.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with a family dinner at The Boathouse Restauarnt.
