Spiritual Problem

Editor, Times-Union:
America’s basic problem is not political but it is spiritual. Consequently, before there can be any real meaningful improvement in our political activity, there must first be significant improvement in our spiritual condition.

It would be extremely beneficial if the voters were reminded of the following biblical truth:

“And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or the age to come.” Matt. 12:31 and 32, NIV
“I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, he is guilty of eternal sin.” Mark 3:28 and 29, NIV.

Probably the easiest and most common way to blaspheme the Holy Spirit today is in the voting booth.
The key word is complicity.

Should anyone reading this desire a fuller explanation I would be glad to oblige.
