SOUTH WHITLEY - "A Small Town Christmas," a Christmas walk and celebration, is Sunday in South Whitley.

The house walk, from noon to 4 p.m., includes the homes of Joe and Darci Kessie at 403 N. Calhoun St.; Brad and Cathy Nestel, 102 N. Maple St.; Larry and Libby Reynolds, 215 N. State St.; Doris Snyder, 101 N. Line St.; Bryan and Vicki Sprunger, 801 S. Metzger Circle; and Richard and Mary Yarnelle, 210 N. Calhoun St.

The homes are all decorated for Christmas. Cost is $5 per ticket.

Two homes on the walk, those of Bruce and Kay Gilson, 411 Carroll Road, and Tim and Cindy Grant, 309 S. Water St., will include Christmas crafts and decorations.

South Whitley's "Small Town Christmas" begins with a beef and noodle dinner served at the VFW Post from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Other activities throughout the day include complimentary coffee, cocoa and cookies at the "warm-up station," South Whitley Town Hall. Delta Theta Tau sorority members will maintain the hospitality center. Everyone is welcome to warm up at the hall and purchase tickets for the walk.

A live nativity is planned at the Star Financial Bank parking area, sponsored by Collamer Church of God and Collamer Christian Church.

Community caroling is at 1 p.m. Anyone interested may call Alicia Evans at 839-2245 or meet at the Town Hall at 1 p.m. Song sheets will be available.

Downtown businesses open that day include Kent Theatre, showing a matinee, Carriage House Flowers, Hicks and Deaton Hardware and Future Heirlooms.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase to win a stay at the Reynolds Bed and Breakfast, dinner for two at Temple Tea Room, a Longaberger Christmas basket donated by Donna Patrick, a Christmas wreath donated by Bruce and Kay Gilson, and two one-year subscriptions to the South Whitley Tribune donated by Dave Tranter.

All proceeds benefit Main Street sidewalk projects. Call Judy Earnhart at 723-5520 or Melissa Smith at 723-5711 for more information. [[In-content Ad]]
