The county's Solid Waste Board met for the first time in 2010 Tuesday morning.

Brad Jackson was re-elected as the board's president with Ron Truex named the board's vice president.

During her director's report, Sue Studebaker said the disposal fees had been set for 2010.

Unsusable latex, paints and stains are $3 a gallon and .75 cents a quart. Electronics are .17 cents a pound. Those rates will go into effect Feb. 1.

Studebaker also told the board of a break-in that took place Jan. 3.

Secruity cameras show an individual on the property for nearly three hours between 1:30 and 4:30 a.m.

Studebaker said the amount of damage and losses was between $5,000 and $8,000.

Studebaker and board member Bob Conley will look into ways to potentially upgrade the security at the facility.

The person in the security video is described as between 5 foot 8 inches and 6 feet tall. He was a white male with a medium build in his mid 20s wearing a black leather jacket with white stripes on the side.[[In-content Ad]]
