Smith was first elected to the city council in 1999, and serves as executive vice president of Lake City Bank.
Smith said he feels serving 11 years on the city council, his financial background and ability to work with people on all levels provides an asset to the city. "I have a strong background in serving on economic development boards and promoting economic growth which is important and vital to Warsaw's continued success," Smith said.
Smith said the city's tax base needs to stay low while providing as many services to Warsaw tax payers as possible. He also said his voting record has helped to keep a flat municipal tax rate.
He said his ability to make informed decisions is very important to Warsaw.
"I am not a politician. I am a business banker and former teacher and coach. I believe this background has aided me in being a servant to the city," Smith said.[[In-content Ad]]
