Charlie Smith is seeking re-election to the Warsaw City Council, District 2 seat.
He said in his announcement he is running because he loves and appreciates the Warsaw community, and his financial background and ability to work with people on all levels provides a valuable asset to the city.
He was formerly executive vice president of commercial banking at Lake City Bank for 13 years, and was with the bank for 30 years. He was a teacher and coach for 16 years.
He currently serves on Warsaw City Council, Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety, Warsaw Redevelopment Commission, Kosciusko Economic Development Corp., Kosciusko Community Senior Services, Warsaw Board of Aviation Commissioners, Warsaw Rotary Club and previously Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation.
“I have a strong background in serving our economic development boards and promoting economic growth, which is important and vital to Warsaw’s continued success,” Smith said.
He said he would like to provide quality services for citizens while keeping the tax rates as low as possible.
“Our parks department provides many events and maintaining our parks is also a vital role of serving our taxpayers,” Smith said.
Smith said economic development and the creation of quality jobs will continue to be important to him.[[In-content Ad]]
