Lauren Jené Smith, League City, Texas, and 2nd Lt. Kyle Blaine Miller, U.S. Army, Fort Benning, Ga., were married at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 30, 2010, by Dr. Ron Jenkins.

The bride is the daughter of Suzanne and Rick Stanford, League City, and Todd Smith and Toni Chambers, Oklahoma. The groom is the son of Angie and Mark Miller, Anchorage, Alaska, and formerly of Milford, and Darrell Ruch, Houston, Texas, formerly of Warsaw.

The reception was at Butlers Courtyard, League City.

Matron of honor was Lauren Stanford, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Chaysee Colbert and Tyler Berger, friends of the bride.

Flower girl was Kylie Smith, sister of the bride.

Best man was Nathan Miller, brother of the groom.

Groomsmen/ushers were Ryan Smith, brother of the bride, and 2nd Lt. Jake Straughan, friend of the groom.

Ring bearer was Koltyn Hutto (with mommy Kendra).

The bride is a 2007 Clear Creek High School, League City. She works as a transcriber.

The groom graduated from Wawasee High School, Syracuse, in 2006, and earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston University, Huntsville, Texas, in 2010. He graduated from Officers Candidate School, Fort Benning, in February, and has been assigned to the 101st Airborne.
