When Jeremy Ousley lost his job, it brought his family together.

Without a job, Jeremy went back to school with the help of his parents, Don and Tena Ousley.

Jeremy attended and graduated from Motorcycle Mechanics Institute where he trained with Harley-Davidsons.

From there, his parents purchased property, and in early April Smiley’s Power Sports was born.

Smiley is Jeremy’s nickname.

Located at 1102 N. Fox Farm Road, just north of the Fox Farm Roundabout, Smiley’s offers repairs in Harleys along with Spectra Oil products.

Don said the best thing that could have happened to their business was the building of the roundabout.

“It makes it so much easier to get in and out of our building,” said Don.

The repairs range from rebuilding motors to general repairs and tires.

The shop also will be involved with metric bikes and all-terrain vehicles.

The Ousleys have always had a love for motorcycles and are all American Bikers Aimed Toward Education members.

Jeremy also raced four-wheel ATVs for six years.

He said he specializes in early and late model Harleys.

A grand-opening celebration will be Saturday with a hog roast and Jarod from Sum of 3 playing.

The Animal Welfare League also will be at the event.

Smiley’s, a 1,700-square-foot facility, is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

For more information, call the shop at 574-267-4224.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
