Police recovered the second of three vehicles taken from Rice Ford and may be targeting a sixth suspect in connection with the thefts that are believed connected to the murder of a Milford woman.
The name of the potential suspect has not been released, but police believe that person may have driven the pickup that was recovered in Ocala, Fla.
One of the suspects in the case, Lawrence Grant, 29, Shipshewana, allegedly fled to Florida after the murder of Kathy Vroman, 48, of Milford. The sixth suspect is not believed to have driven Grant to Florida. Grant is charged with auto theft, unlawful movement of a body and assisting a criminal. He remains in custody in Florida, where he surrendered to authorities shortly before the case began to unfold here.
Local police have taken custody of Grant in Florida and were en route to Kosciusko County today. Grant is expected to be in jail here on Friday.
Jason Fisher, 22, of Millersburg, remains held without bond in the Kosciusko County Jail on a charge of murder.
Fisher's father, Ralph Freddrick Fisher, 46, of Goshen, is charged with assisting a criminal and unlawful movement of a body after allegedly assisting his son in connection with the murder of Vroman and disposal of her body at a location near Three Rivers, Mich., where it was later found.
Ralph Fisher was released from custody after posting a $50,000 surety bond.
Also released on bond was George Aldrich, 28, of 9492-A Ind. 19N, Etna Green, who is charged with burglary and auto theft. Aldrich was granted a Feb. 2 request for a bond reduction, which reduced his bond from $50,000 to $5,000 surety.
Vroman's husband, William Weston Vroman, 32, of Goshen, remains incarcerated in the KCJ on a charge of burglary, a Class C felony, and is awaiting extradition to New York, where he is considered a fugitive from justice. Vroman is wanted in New York on a charge of larceny in connection with the alleged embezzlement of funds from the volunteer fire department he served as chief.
Vroman, Aldrich and Grant were implicated in the Dec. 2 burglary of Rice Ford in Warsaw, from which more than $100,000 in 2001 vehicles were stolen. Another vehicle was previously recovered in Dunlap.
Jason Fisher is said to be the owner of the Country Car Co. in Milford, where it is possible Kathy Vroman was murdered. Samples from what is believed to be blood were taken from inside the business shortly after Kathy Vroman was reported missing on Jan. 15, authorities said.
Aldrich, Grant and Kathy Vroman also were employed at the used car lot and the elder Fisher and William Vroman were affiliated with the business, according to court documents.
The investigation into the disappearance of Kathy Vroman began Jan. 15 when her husband, William, reported her missing when she failed to return home from work. [[In-content Ad]]
