SILVER LAKE – Silver Lake Town Council held its January meeting Wednesday night, which lasted only 15 minutes.
Town Marshal Craig Hollopeter told the board that drivers performing U-turns downtown were becoming a problem. He said that because the Indiana Highway Department never installed signs in this area, police never enforced the law.
Steve Parker, an influencial resident who donated thousands of dollars to the little league program, sold Par Kan Company after owning the business over 20 years. The board wanted to thank Parker for his contributions.
Plans to put a new storm sewer in the alley between Walnut and High streets have been approved. Hohman Excavating Inc. quoted the project at $3,182. The project should be completed before spring.
The next Silver Lake board meeting will be 7 p.m. Feb. 10.[[In-content Ad]]
