Shortstop is open for business again.

After being closed for nearly three months, new ownership has taken over for the gas station on South Buffalo Street in Warsaw.

Two groups came together to remodel, restock and reopen the gas station.

April O'Neill and Greg Treesh, who own Bogey's Steakhouse, and Steve and Deb Miller, who own ProStar Consulting, came together to reopen the gas station March 19.

"Being local business people we wanted it to stay open," said O'Neill.

While business remains busy at both Bogey's and ProStar, both ownership groups decided to expand their business interests.

And while Shortstop is still in the same location, there is a lot of new features.

"We have a new roof, new ceiling, new facing on the awning," said O'Neill.

The Shortstop will feature staples like lottery and fully stocked items like bread and milk.

There also will be a hot deli and soon the station will be selling bait.

The station still provides Sunoco gasoline.

Steve Miller said the two ownership groups are a perfect marriage.

"Greg and April have a retail background and I have the books background," said Miller.

The Shortstop is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

The phone number is 574-267-2391.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
